Hello everyone!!! I guess I'll start by telling you guys a little about myself...
I love cars and I always had my eye on the SC... to me this car always looked and felt right!
I'm still very young so I can't afford a brand new one lol... and I just sold my 330i. Its a very different world coming from bmw to lexus, even though i have owned many toyotas in the past; this will be my first...
Welcome to CL !! I'd go for a 2003, both model years are basically the same. Look at Ebay, you should be able to get an 03 for 18k - 19k with clean Carfax and good service history. Look for Lexus service, not an independent shop. Be patient, great deals are out there, don't...

I check on the 35-45 SC430 on Ebay each day, believe me they are out there. Today there's a clean 02 in MN, no ...
+1 tromly-they are out there...not as many 03's (yet) in that range but soon to be...
02's can get as low as $15k-$16k now and 03's you are seeing under the $20k mark for the first time just recently. Kinda sad...good for buyers, not good for us owners already
oddly enough, here are three I found within a few brief seconds on cars.com...

Again, IMHO, history (both maint and carfax/owner) is virtually everything to a car.
A 2002 with higher mileage like the one I'm about to show you COULD be a great car just driven well and has been a well maintained, southern rust free car that you could get for possibly $15k!!! The difference between this car and a not-so-well maintained 2003 with 80k miles could be as much as $3k-$4k in ...
yah true! i have about 10k from the sale of my 330i which was a 2001 with 50k miles for 10,200
i really do not mind high mileage cars but would prefer a lower one as i plan to keep this car forever (literally)!
I still have alot of toyotas in my family and many of them with over 200k miles
for example my brother drives a 1998 avalon with 220k miles on it
and a 1998 corolla with 215k ...

So I called on the PA 04 Pine car. They want $27,100 for it. I was hoping they would come down some more..anyone near Phili that would take a look at the car for me? Its about 50 min away from there. I just am leary now of buying another car, but I like my color combo. The vin checks out ok, and the service history is good. They said they will notcome down on the car until its been there close to 60 days.. The dealer here just wants to buy my...

imo, the good way to buy car is that you have to test drive the car during the day time so you can see all the imperfections. If you can afford an experienced mechanic, bring hime with you! I'd rather pay a lil' extra up front for a good car than trying to save a few bucks and ended up with big $$$ repair later on. Like the old saying " You'll get what you pay for!"
Good luck in your search and wish you all the best As long as Cl members are here with you and especially Bon & SCdroptop, be sure you are in safe hands and your SC will be the best
i have 02' only 20k miles on it. its a CPO. m thinking about selling it since m getting marry soon. its gold with ecru interior. i love everything about this car but its getting a little too small for me now
