Thread: I need new everyday dishes..how about Fiestaware?
Started 3 months, 2 weeks ago by maximillian
Who has Fiestaware for everyday dishes? I need to replace my old Noritake everyday dishes and a local Boscov's has Fiestaware on sale. I do like the idea of buying different colors and they have some dish sizes that we like and would use. I have some questions though. Does it hold up well? Does it hold up colorwise through years of being washed in the dishwasher? Are there any reasons not ...
IMO, it is heavy, chips, cracks and breaks too easily for my household. I have Corelle ware and don't ever worry about its durability. -- Kindness is the language the blind can see and the deaf can hear.
Hi- I have Fiestaware as my everyday dishes. I just love them. Yes, they do hold up well. The colors stay just fine. I have them in all colors, just mixed and matched. Keep adding more as I find something, or a new color that I like! The assorted colors look so nice on the table. Yes, they're substantial (weighty), but I've never had a piece chip or crack.. -- It matters not how...
I just love mine too! Got six different colors, and keep adding more pieces as I get a chance to when on sale. Mine hold up well and never cracked or chipped either and I use them for every day use. Good investment!! -- Blessings, Gloria
I use them for everyday. I mix & match...do the rainbow thing every day. They are heavy, but we love them. They're manufactured not too far from where we live and am happy to keep people in the USA employed. I have a solid red set I use at Christmas and a pale yellow I use for Thanksgiving. I love them. When my kids were little they liked helping me set the dinner table with the ...
I love our Fiestaware! We use it as our everyday tableware and it has held up great. I also can't say enough about the fun colors. I originally picked four colors I thought would coordinate well, but then this year along came their new color, Lemongrass. It is beautiful and has now been added in to my collection. My only caution is I have found Fiestaware is totally addictive. They keep ...
I love Fiesta too. I use it for every day. It is well made and durable. I also like that it doesn't chip as easily as a lot of ceramicware. Also - it is still made in the US and now lead-free. Amazon often has great prices on Fiesta. I got two sets of 4 place settings for less than $150 a couple years ago. I have mainly the scarlet (nice red color) with some black & a few white ...
I have Corelle, but want Fiestaware. Does Fiestaware fit in the dishwasher easy? Corelle is so thin it fits really nice. Also, is the bottom of Fiestaware really smooth? I hate dishes that are rough and if you slide them across the counter you can get scratches in your countertop. Thanks! Mima -- Drive safely!!! 90% of all people are caused by accidents!
Be aware that if you choose a medium or dark color, the glaze scratches with use (knives and forks) and the scratches stand out like a sore thumb. You have to be very, very careful to stack the plates and bowls in the cupboard with a paper towel in between eatch piece to avoid this scratching also. You don't see this as much on the lighter colors, but it is there anyway and I just don't like...
I've had it for at least 3 years and wouldn't use anything else! And, even in our busy house, I have not had a single piece chip yet... knock on wood. They get dropped every once in awhile and only one piece has ever broken. The colors hold beautifully after dishwasher use. I agree that the very dark colors show knife marks. For example, I have navy blue and a few of the navy ...
Fiestaware is wonderful, looks amazing, dishwasher safe, and holds up very well! I'm fortunate to live about 20 minutes from where it is made, so my friend and I visit a few times a year. Their "seconds" room is just awesome if you have patience. We get most of the serving pieces from there. Seconds means as much as 75% off the regular price. Some items are very noticeable--but many are...
Dani - Sometimes amazon has amazing prices on dinnerware sets of Fiesta, if you are looking for one color. Or you could get two sets of 4 place settings in dif colors. I got my scarlet ones there a couple of years ago and paid less than $150 for 8 place settings, with free ship & no sales tax. -- ---------------- karma, baby, karma

chickenbutt, I went and looked now... WOW!! Love it all.....the cakes were fantastic! I want lemons and they had 3 sizes which is great! It reminds me of how in Japan they have all the fake foods in the restaurant windows so you can see what they offer. I loved the cherries....so cute. And, the provolone cheese (hanging) and the grapes would be so pretty in a kitchen decor. Thanks again......that site is a winner! I wish I could see it all in...

It has nothing to do with age - I have RA so badly in both hands, and am quite clumsy. I simply can't handle heavy Fiestaware, or Temptations without good side handles. My DGD is only 19, but walks with forearm crutches. She can grab a few Corelle plates, but won't touch ceramic. If you can handle them, great. Puppy
I love my Fiesta Ware. We have used it for 12 years. Never had a problem with chipping. Very heavy and substantial. And I like that I can add to my collection here and there without breaking the bank. I have serving platters, as well as all of our dinner wear. I love mixing colors, too. I think Fiesta works with just about any decor, too. Love it!
