Johnny's portrayal of Tony is the most faithful to Heath's Tony character. That is why some people said they weren't sure which actor was playing the character. They even mistook Johnny for Heath, which means Johnny did a great job in portraying Tony the same way Heath did. And that is exactly what I expected from him as a Heath substitute. Johnny delivered a beautiful speech in the film about how those who die young will live on forever in our memories, it was like a little eulogy for Heath. He said it so beautifully I was in tears. Johnny was my favorite of the Heath substitutes; he was most faithful to the character Heath had created.

True, Johnny Depp was good in the film, i see what you mean by the 'Jack Sparrow' in him. That said, Heath Ledger adopted the same persona, and i thought he did it as well, if not better, as he had more screen time. God, i'm going to miss him.
