Thread: I have the dreaded sub-frame tears issue...

Started 2 months, 2 weeks ago by gusser
Anyone have an issue with the 'free fix' when they also had an after market suspension? I see them on Tuesday and I don't want to hear how I voided my warranty....

I am reluctant to have the dealership inspect, and honestly I am uncertain where to look without removing a bunch of the suspension and subframe. Are there locations that I can check on my car, that maybe only require a good light and some jack stands?

go to M3 f-o-r-u-m dot n-e-t and search for both the class action verbiage and subframe tear threads with fixes and pics. You don't have to remove anything to see them, but an untrained eye may not find them if just starting. I'm wondering w/o re-reading what I mention above... part of this settlement says they'll pay for fixes done BUT I don't know the timing. So it MAY be a possibility...

They've had my car for 2 weeks now and I just got the call that they are going to fix for free. Damage was very extensive. I'll post pics when the mechanic forwards them to me.

Are you the original owner? What did they say about aftermarket parts? Apparently didn't concern them enough to deny fixing it. good for you! ADS
