Thread: I hate when sales people bug me.

Started 1 month ago by Jude-Love
Today some chick in the maternity store asked me FOUR times if I needed help finding anything, all in different ways. Then, she asked me if I needed her to put my shirts in the dressing room. Fuck no. It was two shirts, back off lady.

It's their job....haha. It's like how waiters/waitresses come to your table a bunch of times asking how things are, if you need anything/etc. Sure it gets annoying.....but I'm glad they ask. I'd rather get annoyed by them asking me a bunch of times, than getting annoyed when I can't find a salesperson, or they just ignore me.

I think that in a small store a polite "Hello. Did you need any help today?" when the potential customer first enters the store is sufficient. If the reply is in the negative the salesperson may offer a reminder that they are there if needed and that's it. Anything more is pushy and irritating and I can't imagine it produces very good results.

It helps reduce shrink. Someone is a lot less likely to try and steal from a store when the employees are following you around asking you if you need help every five seconds.

people usually act at their job how they were told to by their boss, no matter if fat hormonal bitches like it or not

That bugs me too. What is really annoying is those damn kiosk people getting in your face. Heaven help those who make eye contact. Then there's the women in the food courts who stick samples in your face. "No I don't want your greasy, fake Thai food."

And hounding upper management is usually watching. Otherwise I wouldn't bother customers.

Yeah, generally there's someone watching.

It bugs me too, but I know I had to be that annoying person before and it wasn't my choice, aside from taking the job itself, so I try to think of it that way. It can be annoying but it is their job, so usually they're required to do it. I try not to let little things like that get to me.

I completely understand she has to do her job, but imo there is only so much salespeople can actually do. Asking me if I need anything four times in the span of 15 minutes is past being helpful.

My best coworker friend has a crush on the girl trying to sell those Dead-Sea/nail buffer kits, and used to beg me to go with him....

If that doesn't melt the ice, then I don't know what will.
