Thread: I fought a very long war against the Underground Ruins Guardian. (spoilers?)

Started 1 year, 6 months ago by SuperSonic2002
While playing through the game again to come up with demonic questions for the quiz I'm writing, I decided I should make a valiant attempt to kill the Guardian in the Underground Ruins. He "dies" when you're heading towards the atelier, but when you're coming back, he "seems" to be undefeatable, yet it still shows damage amounts when you hurt him, so perhaps he just has some insanely high HP. I...

I think it probably has unlimited hp.

But we'll never know for sure (unless we hunt down the people who made it), and that's what bothers me.

Aww... how disappointing. I thought you killed it. :P

He has ulimited HP. Whenever you hit him he'll just regenerate all HP. There are two bosses in the game where their HP is inifite. Doll Master in the Tower of Maya and this boss. The game is based on a 999 HP system. I beiieve in the database the HP totals of ALL enemies are capped at an integer value of "999" meaning storage for the HP for everything never exceeds 999 HP. Therefore since ...

Damn... I wish that guardian was a playable character. Then I could resist Wylaf's flames too!

Sol4688 replied 1 year, 6 months ago
Nope. Wylaf's flames do over 999 damage. Even the Guardian would die.

Nope, the guardian wouldn't die. My normal jump kicks could do over 1,100 damage to him, my cosmos could deal over 2,000 damage, and my big burst could do over 17,000 damage. If he can stand up to 17,000 at one time, then he could stand up to Wylaf.
