Thread: I don't understand why people say the 4th film was the best

Started 4 months ago by 7ac0B0
Seriously, I've seen all of them recently and I can say without any doubt that the fourth film is the worst of all harry potter films. The editing was pointless, the story was very poorly told and the scenes were very bad written, I really felt that special efects were over the writing and the story. Seeing "Order of the Phoenix" later was a completely different experience, and a very good one ...

Yeah, that one was *beep* I saw it years ago in the cinema and remembered it being quite good but I saw it again recently and was like: "What?" I couldn't believe it could be that bad. It was so rushed and unfaithful to the books. Have You Ever Noticed How Sexy Mirrors Are?

I've never heard anyone call the forth film the best. Usually it's the third.

I'm with you completely. I can understand when people say the third film is the best (though, personally, I think the sixth has surpassed the third), but I just don't get it when they say the fourth is best. It's just.. BAD. Bad CGI, bad character development, EXTREMELY bad acting (esp. from Emma)... this is not the best of the films. "All hands on deck, Granger!" ~ Slughorn

I actually think the third one is even worse. Have You Ever Noticed How Sexy Mirrors Are?

LKLI don't think it's the best out of all of them. It's my least favorite, considering at how much was taken out. The acting, I agree, wasn't my favorite. But I reread the fouth book this week, and of course they couldn't include everything in the book. Though, I still think Winky should've been in it. I can see why S.P.E.W. was excluded, because it really didn't have a purpose in the story (...

I don't think the third film was EXCELLENT, but I think it struck the best balance between being true to the story and being a well made film. The first two were VERY true to the books, but as films they never felt like more than adaptations of better books. OOTP was quite good as a film but it ignored SO MUCH of the subject matter that it made for an inadequate adaptation. And GOF not only ...

I pretty much find all the films to be on about the same level, neither good or bad really, except that I found PS to be a terrible movie (just so, very stupid) and Azkaban to be a terrific movie, both visually and emotionally satisfying through a typw well adapted story line with some terrific acting, especially Rickman. Everything was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt!

I read somewhere that Mike Newell wanted GOF to be a Bollywood extravaganza. I think he's got it. I remember loving GOF when I first saw it, and then after several viewings I realized it wasn't a great movie. I think that was the intention, it was almost like they put a spell on us. The film was well marketed, that's all I can say, and the Triwizard Scenes were kept intact, and those three ...

Completely agreed. back when it came out I said that I thought it was a joke and where was the real film... I still dislike that film but not as much as I dislike CoS. "Some of their number had been lost and those who had survived were weary"

And you are.. how old??? To proclaim how inmature the movies are?? 12? 16? or, ok, maybe 20? However , not even the point: After Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince ... Goble of Fire is the best film ever. Do you recognize my voice...?

While I think any is better than 1 and 2, simply because those are too dull to rewatch, Goblet of Fire is easily the worst adaptation, it cut out so much , no development to the outside new characters. I get mad because the 4th got better reviews than Order of the Phoenix, even though the 5th, and also HBP, are a LOT better than the 4th, as is the 3rd. It is a three-way tie between my fav HP film, the 3rd, 5th, or 6th. The first two are too...

"I don't understand why people say the 4th film was the best." I suppose they say it because they think it and believe it. I may disagree with them, but I understand. They're just stating an opinion. Not everyone thinks alike. It's not uncommon to encounter people that have a different opinion from your own, not just about Harry Potter films, but everything! Is this really a new concept to you?

Philosopher 9/10 Great all-round kids film Chamber 7/10 Mostly a rehash of the original Azkaban 8/10 By far the best direction, but the worst pacing in terms of the series. I felt cauron cut too much and the last act suffered for it Goblet 9/10 Great action, good character development, incredible ending, i love the whole feel of this movie Phoenix - 8.5/10 Strong themes and developments, but I think Yates is the weakest director of the series...
