Thread: INFO ON HOYT PEAK

Started 3 months ago by mrjimsfc
Well, I went back up to Hoyt yesterday. The Forest Service closed the road on the 7th so it was a 4 1/2 mile hike in (9 mile round trip) to get some pictures of the dark ledge and a couple of places that looked real interesting. The thing that really troubles me though, I can't find ANY indication of tailings. All the exploration holes people have dug/blasted there over the years have tailings...

There ain't nuthin up at Hoyt..... I've been to the west desert a hundred or better times.....bet ya won't find any evidence..... I've been to places in them mountains more times than Garcia ever thought of....and you won't find no evidence..... what makes you think there should be tailings let alone signs of them?

We know where the drill hole is, that and others. Whether there really was gold on the bit is a different story. Considering where Gary heard that I am skeptical at best. Gary is trying to do this the right way and not get everything buried up again. He's working with the proper channels to get things opened up and stay on the good side of the law. So far they are very cooperative because Gary is giving them full disclosure and going by...

I copied this from Ancient Lost Treasures, seemed like some rather intriguing claims and very detailed, not at all like the typical treasure story... The Lost Josephine, I have discovered was given to the mine at Hoyt's peak after she had died as a ruse. There are two tunnels and one shaft in the mine. The Glory Hole was not the western shaft but is a jumble of quarzite with one one inch gold vein hidden below a vein of beryl laden ore....

You are gonna have to explain a little more. I don't see a wedge tree either. Maybe an axe mark.

Randy it is my understanding that some have followed it into the Timpanogos. I once had around here a desription of how this was done but it never really interested me. One intersting thing about this is that now when you do this you would definitly be getting close to the actual Dream Mine site. No I am not saying within site but it would fall close enough to take a look at I would think. Nope I never did follow out this path nor did I care...
