Try your local Community/Health/Family Centres, and also Early intervention, and Northcott at Parramatta. If they are not running any groups, they may have some info on who is and where. I am near Windsor and have been lucky enough to have had a special needs supported playgroup thru early intervention (which was excellent), attended a couple of Northcott playgroup days, and now have just joined ...

My son has/had it too. When he first saw the paed at 7 months we were told that based on his development at that stage, he probably wouldn't walk before 2 and it would more likely be 3. We were shocked and worried. The do like to give the worst case scenario. But he powered along with the physio, OT, speech. He walked at 19 months. He's about to turn 3 and at a recent assessment his physio said ...

My now 13yo DD has hypotonia and we did all of the OT, physio and speech etcetc. She walked at 27months and hasnt looked back. She has been dancing in elite squads since she was 7 years old and last year attended the national gymnastcis cheerleading in sydney representing WA and will be going to Hawaii next year representing Australia. Hey OP my boy has hypotonia, speech and feeding delays but we have been seeing the physio weekly and it has made a big difference so there is definatly hope for improvement I think. Always happy to chat and the SN chat thread is always open!

Hi Naiwen are you from brisbane? I have been looking for a good physio (here in brisbane) for my little daughter who is 26-month year old. She has global developmental delay and hypotonia. She did undergo genetic test when she's still less than 1 year old and the findings were normal. That's way even her pedia are mystified what's causing the developmental delay. Also, do you know any day ...

hey guys. another with a gdd and hypotonic child. lexi is 3 and 3 months now, and doing great. no speech, but she is walking quite well and comunicating through sign language. the drs in brissy rch are also testing alex for genetic disorders as her heart, airways, gut ect have been affected too. alex sees speech, ot, physio, play therapist and attends sessions at the local special ed unit. ...
