S&P futures are holding 995 support, but will need to see German Dax futures at 02:00 EDT hold 5300, if Wall Street will easily be attracting buyers in the cash market.

A great article that puts the Equity/Gold equation in-line for September;..."We’re heading into September, so it’s a good time to revisit the historic seasonality of gold and gold stocks. Over the past four decades, September has been the best time for gold in terms of its month-over-month price appreciation. You can see this on the chart below — in a typical year, the price of gold in ...

European finance ministers lined up behind proposals to rein in bank bonuses as governments sought to forge a common stance on overhauling the financial system before a summit of the Group of 20 nations. “The bonus culture must come to an end,” Swedish Finance Minister Anders Borg, whose nation currently holds the rotating European Union presidency, told reporters today as he arrived for a ...

One bar closing belowan uptrend does not a market turn make... Having said that I agree with your analysis and believe that 1,000 level will hold - for now. Given that September is traditionally a bad month for US equities I don't expect this year will be much different. Look at the numbers that posted today, Sept 1 US PMI - 52.9 an expansionary number US pending home ...

The chancellor is under pressure to explain how he will meet his pledge to halve the deficit over four years by cutting spending or raising taxes. The Conservatives say borrowing levels, which could exceed £175bn this year, need to be reduced much more quickly. Support for youth...

Unfortunately many people think it is. This just shows a deep lack of understanding on their parts. IF, you think that trading is gambling you are setting yourself up for a self fulfilling prophecy of failure. Now, before we begin, lets answer this first: Can...

There is no room for hope in trading. You have learned your lessons, and done your back-testing, or you haven’t. If you are relying on hope in this game you are in trouble. I received an enjoyable e-mail yesterday from a new client who was having a good time with the majors.

Japan GDP revised heavily downward
Published (2009-12-10 02:20:00)
Official estimates of Japan’s growth between July and September were revised down heavily on Wednesday, suggesting the country’s recovery is more fragile than previously thought. Growth on the previous quarter was revised down from 1.2 per cent to 0.3 per cent. At an annualised rate the revision was from 4.8 per cent to 1.3 per cent. The growth revision highlights the risk of a “double dip” recession – with the economy turning down again...
