Thread: Hulk as Avengers Villain = Awful Idea

I think the Hulk series has gotten a bad rap. The Bruce Banner character showed very interesting development in The Incredible Hulk, and by the end of the movie finally became a hero with good intentions who had control of his power. It was a turning point for Banner/Hulk that was topped off with Tony Stark showing interest in the Hulk joining the Avengers team. With that in mind, it makes no sense to me why the Hulk would suddenly go bad. Why...

Hulk is on the run. He isn't suddenly a good guy. When Stark approaches the General at the end of TIH, he mentions a team he's putting together. I really doubt that the "team" is meant to include Hulk...it's likely meant to take down people and creatures like the Hulk (ahem...Stark buildinig the "Hulk Buster"). I would hate to see Hulk as a villian

They already did this with the Ultimate Avengers animated movie did they not? Instead of making him a main villain just make him a minor villain somewhat during the process of his recruitment where the avengers gang up on him and then they finally tame him somewhat to join. The main baddie should be something so malevolent and evil that they have to join forces.

If Hulk was indeed in the new avengers movie then he wouldn't necessarily be a villian but be a big enough threat to innocent people that they have to form the avengers in order to stop him. What needs to happen is for the Avengers to be fighting some baddies & to be losing, Banner is kept in a cell designed by stark 20 miles below the surface of the earth to stop him from being able to transform & wreak havok, but out of desperation the Avengers release Banner, provoke a change to Hulk who then rampages on screen for 20 minutes kicking the s**t out of the bad guys and saving the day - perfect! The thing is Banner just put down a true monster in front of a group of people(who are gonna talk). I think they would rather bring Banner in then engage in a fight with him.

I'm fine with him being a villain in the beginning of the film (just whatever you said there). But I'd hate to see him as the main villain with him killing innocents and all. That would be terrible. We will send them a message. That this... this is our land!

The villain should be Ultron and the Vision instead, or at least have all the Avenger's Arch enemies team up against them.
