Thread: How will AM EMH affect my plans to ride TSM?

Started 3 months, 3 weeks ago by winterman
The only day that we will be going to DHS is an AM EMH morning. I hope to ride TSM twice. What would you recommend to do as far as when to get a fastpass vs when to go thru standby line. I've read lots about this but nothing that dealt with the EMH factor. We have never done TSM before. Neither have we ever taken advantage of EMH. DH and I will NOT stand in a line that is more than 45 minutes....

last year we did this, first fp's were for return time of 9:05 i think and then got in line and rode...got a second fp at 9:20 and return time was for much later..i felt bad for the people coming into the park i think the return time was for around 3 pm already. We are going to emh am again, great way to ride three times in an day w/ little waits.

Did this twice on our last trip (just returned). Both times we got there for rope drop, grabbed FPs, then hopped on line to ride (~20 minute wait). The FP return time was 9:15 (I was third in my line for FPs one day and fourth the following week). We did a few other things, then returned at 9:15. I grabbed another FP before we rode. The result both times - 3 TSMM rides with little or no wait ...

Just did this last wkd for EMH. Got fastpass, rode standby (about 15 min wait), did something else, then went back for fastpass time (9:40). By then fastpass distribution was up to 1pm. Worked fine and everyone was happy with two rides on TSM.

The key is to arrive at DHS as soon as possible and position yourself as close to the Rope Drop at Hollywood and Sunset as possible. If you only want to ride twice that day and FASTPASS return time is not a concern,I would ride first and then get a FASTPASS.

On many mornings, guests (B) are held for Rope Drop near the HAT (#2) before being released into the park at opening time (Regular of AM EMH.) [ The " Alternate Path " on the TSM route below is now nearly always used by the CM's to route guests to TSM following the Rope Drop.

If you rode TSM and FP'd it, how bad were the lines at RNR? I'd like to do both of those, but I'm not sure if it's possible.

During AM EMH I usually grab a FP for TSM, ride it stand by, then ride RNR, followed by ToT. It's a breeze and bangs out those rides early.
