Thread: How to achieve the best anabolism (without drugs)?
Started 3 months ago by Zaxxxon
Hi
It's my 39th birthday today (yeah, I know, the cards are in the post!) and it got me thinking as I approach the big four-oh.
I had a great workput last night. Man, I was on fire - sweat dripping, insane pumps, extreme focus etc etc. It felt good.
But to captalise on that work, I need to be confident that my body is in a state to build on that work and keep building.
This ...
Sounds to me like you are doing all the right things.
You kind of sped through the "ya, the feeding thing" a little too quickly. Eating a nutritious balanced meal, every meal, will go a long way to keep your hormones in balance.
Rest and lowered stress levels will also keep you on the positive side of the testosterone/estrogen balance.
You may want to keep a watch out for environmental...
Don't forget your FATS. Essential fatty acids are building blocks that a lot of folks need to include in their regime and I didn't seem them on first glance.

right.....what we are all getting at, with this relatively "young" man, is that he has to loosen the reins a bit on this definition thing.....
yes, he is ripped to the bone, but also, YES, he is WAY UNDERWEIGHT for his height and for bodybuilding standards, even at the Natural competition level.....
my guess is that he follows a VERY strict diet all the time, and is basically fat ...
Besides the obvious need to eat for growth, the only things you didn't mention that I would think anyone should be taking are a good multivitamin and mineral supp and a good EFA.

Thanks for the reply. Good point. I don't supplement Omegas but I do knock back quite a bit of olive oil as we tend ...
So, to sum up where we are as at now, I should be putting more EFA's into the diet to increase my anabolism. Are there any addtional supps you recommend that I should take or replace existing with more effective ones? I know a lot on here would say "supps are supps - eat more real food" and I would agree totally, but are there any you would recommend which aid in synthesis and muscle growth that are not roids or likely...

Um, being in an anabolic state as opposed to catabolic state generally requires that you have a positive protein balance. The biggest factors do not involve supplements. Instead eating protein and weight training are the two most anabolic...
