Thread: How stupid is this?! Control of our ports to an Arab state???

Started 3 years, 10 months ago by Stewart
Our port operations in New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia have been, or soon will be, purchased by Dubai Ports World, a state-owned company in the United Arab Emirates, a firm that manages port facilities. The purchase was cleared by an obscure federal panel, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, with little fanfare. http://www....

I guess Haliburton wasn't an option? If you are picking the lesser of two evils, at least Haliburton is USA based.

U.S. Outsources Homeland Security to North Korea Little-known Korean company ?seems okay,? says Chertoff by:ANDY BOROWITZ Coming just days after the controversial decision to allow several major U.S. ports to be run by a company based in the United Arab Emirates, the outsourcing of the nation?s homeland security functions to an obscure company based in an Axis of Evil country struck some in ...

Somewhere in this pile of horsesh!t there's a pony! Somewhere there is a payoff for georgeoff, cheney and the bush gang. Anyone having a problem calling it the bush gang???TFB!! Call you congressperson, call your senator! They refuse to get involved in the Mexican border problems, they see nothing wrong with the port deal? And, in his usual squinty eyed bowlegged stance, says he'll veto it! Oh ...

SEE I TOLD MY HUSBAND THIS... this goings on with Cheney is a distraction... but at the time I didn't know what we were being distracted from. Now I hear this about the ports coming under Arab control. I'm Canadian, and I think this is the most insane thing I have ever heard. I KNOW you Americans on here must agree with me. Those companies have secret links with terrorist groups. WHY DOESN'T BUSH...

I guess that you don't care that the Port of Los Angeles is mostly owned and run by the ChiComs who BTW already have Nukes !!! This hatred for GW and DC is really unhealthy ...... Get a life, or better yet put forth a candidate that you believe is better and can win an election. Maybe try to come up with better ideas. Maybe try to stand behind the Pres. during a time of war (Boy isn't that a ...

The subject of Containers and their ease of placing a chemical agent in them was of great interest to me. I have been helping set up items to send to "Asia". The Container is delivered to our site,we fill it with the items we want shipped,no-one there looking over our shoulder to see what goes in,the door is closed locked and we call for pickup. When it get to "Asia" we have a heck of a time getting our items, every piece is...

I worked on a project that sent some antenna masts to Saudi Arabia. These masts were made of T6 aluminum and were hollow. Each end was covered with tape to secure them to a grid of 2x4s. We sent 50 or so of them and assembled the grid of 2x4s to support them all. We packed them into a shipping container and off they went loaded on a ship to Saudi. We picked them up (finally) at the other end, and each and every mast had the tape punctured so...

At the time they were more rigidly checking ships coming into Miami, the gimmicks used to smuggle cocaine, was amazing. In tins with fish, inside posts, inside soap, etc, etc. The Atlantic is full of tramp steamer hulls, sunk to make fishing reefs. The bush gang has cut back on manpower in one of their "smart moves:. Other forms of contraband found, also. A neighbor works at Port Everglades, in Broward Co. and he says the search procedure...

68Stang ..as I see it, the back scratching is the U.A.E. has (since 9.11 ) aided us in the fight on terror (however little). So we in turn show some good faith and allow this deal to go through. Which will in turn allow our (the U.S. ) backs to be scratched when we need something more from them, such as my Strategic comment. We have at least one, if not more, airbases in the United Arab Emerates we could use if the situation in Iran turns even...
