Thread: How late into the season do you guys mow? - Bob Is The Oil Guy

Started 2 months, 3 weeks ago by Quattro Pete
I mean those up north. Do you keep mowing until snow falls? I just finished mowing today. It's been a week since last mowing. Not a whole lot of grass grew during that time. I'm guessing one more mowing, maybe two and I'm done for the year...

Late November or early December.

About two or three mowings left for me. Trim the shrubs, rake the leaves, and get the snowblower ready. I HATE WINTER.

As long as the weather holds up and there are leaves to suck up with my bagging tractor. Snowblowers are ready too.

I figure maybe once more. Then, after the leaves have fallen, I'll either bag or mulch them with the mower (first time I've owned a bagger and mulcher mower, so I don't know how effective it is.)

once the grass quits growing.

Usually to late Oct, early Nov in the Buffalo NY area. Then away goes the mowers for ~5 months & out comes the snow removal equipment . Joel

I likely have 2-3 more mowings, I'm usually done by the end of October.

i use my john deere 214 to mow and pick up leaves with. it has a power flow bagger on it and works great for leaf clean up. i've usually got the mower deck off and the snow plow on by early to mid november.

Well, looks like I just did my last mowing of the season. Got 5 bags of leaves and grass off this tiny less than 1/4-acre lawn.

Just did the last mowing for leaves here. I removed less than one bag of leaves. We have 3 Bradford Pear trees, 3 Corkscrew Willows (all 25-30' tall), and a couple little things that don't count. I had a high lift mulching blade on the mower, and put the oversized side discharge chute on it. I kept the chute pointing to the middle, and a quick pass then slower pass. When done, I had less than one bag from the whole yard (which I...

Ok I know last Friday I did my "final leaf mulch" But today it was sunny and 60. Had to wake up the ol Craftsman and do another mulch, eventhough there wasnt a whole lot of leaves on the lawn. Gotta love sunny and 60F in the middle of November!

We had a lot of rain last week. I hope to clean things up the next day or 2, mow one more time and be done.
