About a month ago, I traded in my PSP to get a Go at gamestop and the gs employee, with a look of shock in his face, was astounded at the quality I was turning it into him in. He said that it was the BEST looking psp he's ever had in the store. Which brings me to wonder, how do people treat their electronic devices? You see alot of posts about YLOD and you have to wonder, how ...
the same here i treat my ps3 like glass i even clean the dust around the table were it stands almost daily why in the hell did you trade your psp for a go a psp does the same thing as a go only difference the go has bluetooth and 249.99 is a rip off
I take care of my PS3 alot TLC. hehe My PS3 is sitting on its own black wood table, with 3 foot of breathing room around it. Before it play, I use those clean dust free swiffers to pick up and dust top, bottom and around my console. And after each play, after it cool down few hours. Put those pc cover over my PS3 to keep dust from touching it. lmao XD And most of time I only ...
To be honest, I really don't take as much care of my PS3 as I should. I had to fix it once already, because it was freezing and wouldn't read discs or dlc. After I got my refurb, it works fine, but I don't know if it'll crap out again. I don't have $150 to shell out for a new one.

Same for me, every electronic I own looks flawless because I've always taken ridiculously good care of my stuff. You'd swear my PS3 was brand new if you took it out of a box.
Yeah I keep most my electronics in great condition too. I went to trade in my PSP years ago and the GS Employee told me it was so brand new I should instead sell it on ebay. I can't say I'm as good with my PS3 as I really plan on running this thing until it doesn't run anymore and then get another.

It's interesting to see how many people actually read the post before responding. I bet alot of you only read maybe the first 2 paragraphs and assumed that it was an entire post blaming the YLOD on mistreatment. However if you had actually finished reading the post. There was a line at the bottom that said if you still kept it nice and clean and treated it well, and it still broke down, THEN look at sony.. but appearantly that line got...
Refia210 wrote: I am sorry to those that took offense to this post. I did not mean it in that way, I know there are some out there that just have faulty equipment that ended up failing despite their best efforts. I thought I had worded it like that but I was wrong. But I have seen alot of systems die from mistreatment and then people blame the makers of the systems. Well, you're relatively new. May I suggest you do some reading...

For example I heard stories of peoples harddrives pooping the bed and thats why they got the YLoD. So yea not sure that its just temperature and that its really like a crippling red flag, saying whoa now I'm not gonna tell you whats wrong with me but something is.. so good luck fixing me. Hi A_Myrf,...

Are you telling me I kicked it and let layers of dust build on it. I had the refurb fail too. I didn't baby it though. I cleaned the dust and all like you should and it did not move from the shelf since the day it was put there. It had plenty...
well some peoples opinions just got sh*t on there hahaha and thanks who ever it was who backed me on the general hardware thing for the YLoD. It's probably easiest to say theres a bit of both that happens. yea some people could take better care of their ps3s but for others it doesnt matter its faulty. Good luck finding out some statistics on that though.
I treat me ps3 fairly well but it feels very warm at times, is that of playing too much call of duty? haha......... im just hoping that it doesnt break any time soon due to overheating
