If I'm hand-drawing it, i sketch it with a fine-tipped mechanical pencil, and then i trace over it with sharpie and erase the left-over pencil marks.
If I'm doing digital art, I use line-art with the SAI program. It looks better that way.
Traditional art I use
Pencils (colored or #2), pens (black, red, or blue)
Paint (watercolor and acrylic), pastels, chalk
Charcoal, sharpie markers,
I also use clay, and sew and knitt
Digital art I use
Paint, Photoshop cs4, adobe flash cs3, adobe illustrator cs3, GIMP, and at school I use the adobe suite.
When i have nose-bleed I use my blood to draw a self portrait or sometime express myself and make lots of wave with it.

I tend to use my 70 dollar pen and this nifty little thing with a cord that attaches to my computer. Rarely do I pick up a regular pencil and draw on paper. sad I use Corel Painter X, too. It be super awesome. But I got some new paints for my birthday that I must start using! <3

I usually use a fine-point pen, or mechanical pencil. I find that fine point is best for the initial sketching, because the marks are not quite so dark and hard to cover up when you go to finish the drawing. I also think that if you don't have pens of varying thicknesses available, you can still do a good job with the shading and stuff by overlapping the lines if you need to. Fine point pens are also great for intricate detail work. ^_^
A pencil. When or if i get a scanner i willl use a program to finish the drawing Btw : to the comment above , anything that produces color are not always just drawing utensils. I may not be able to think of any at the moment but yeah....
