I've done several searches on this forum for methods of stripping, and I just can't find any!
DS has been suffering from yeast rashes, and is on nystatin. It cleared up, I stopped using it, and one diaper later it was back. I want to know how to strip the diapers so I can get rid of both the yeast, and the variety of creams I've used on them. I use pfs and bgos. Should I strip...
We have Miele appliances. They're made in Germany, and despite all of the complaints I've seen on MDC about high efficiency machines and cloth diapers we have never had any issues at all. I'd never heard about buildup and needing to strip diapers until I started reading here.
We actually love, love, love the Miele washer. I regularly take stuff from friends and family that has been ...
Some were bought new, some used... all of them give them red butts. Makes me sad because they are some of my favorite diapers!!! Guess it is time to resell them and get some other stuff then...
Ifluffedthree, I know I mentioned this before, my aunt diapered her children in prefolds and Nikky covers in the 1980's that she got when they were living part-time in Japan, and loved them. But I looked at them and besides being at the upper end of the price range, they come in seven different sizes, which, if the weight ranges are accurate, my dd would have needed all seven. She needed all four...
36 dozen for a newborn is great! that will give you enough to wash every 3 days if you are too busy to do it every other day. Makes it that more convenient. You prob won't need your covers at first either, newborns only have so much pee. I didn't use covers for prob a month (maybe a little less). I'd say you are set!
I used BabyKicks PF's when DS was first born, and I am going to use the same ...
Hi everyone!
My husband and I are TTC and are planning on cloth diapering. I would like to register for diapers as soon as we get preg. I am hoping to find an online cloth diaper store with a registry that carries a variety of brands and styles. I know that I would like to try AIOs and fitteds such as Kissaluvs. Please let me know if you know of any online cloth diaper ...
This is a local store in my area that I love. They do registry and online shopping. They carry a ton of kinds of diapers as well as slings and carriers, soft soled shoes, wooden toys, and other natural baby care stuff.

If you get one size fitteds, you will get your money's worth. And no need to go back and buy larger sizes. I've found I like a large stash of one size fitteds, for daycare/grandma/daddy/etc., about 8 pf's (per child), and lots of inserts/doublers. I like the flexibilty of pf's, but I like the that I don't have to keep buying dipes especially with #2 due any day now. They both have their place in ...
They have a suggested button setting chart for each age and weight range. If it is not on the package, it is on their website. There are three adjustable elastics - one back and two waist. One of my customers sent me pics of a FBOS very comfortably on her 10 lb newborn and it fit great. They do go pretty tiny!
You can use Dawn - scrub it in a little with a toothbrush (sounds worse than it is), and rinse before you throw them in the washer. That should be ok on your machine. My friend strips hers in the dishwasher! I would just stop it before you get to the rinse cycle if you have jet dry in your machine. Some people have even boiled successfully. Good luck! I know it's frustating.
I use a large zippered wetbag with a hanging loop for my diaper pail. I also have a couple of smaller zippered wetbags for travel. Leslie's Boutique are the best ones I've found (I also have a PlanetWise but it isn't as good as the LB for holding in stink, and a Wet Happened which works well but lacks a hanger loop.)
I use a sposie at night for ds. He just pees too much and he wakes up when he feels wet. So, to get a nice long period of sleep for all, he's in a sposie. I lost my travel wetbag (no idea where it went), but I use sposies when we are going to be out & about. If visiting someone's home, I might use cloth if I had my wetbag. The only issue is poopy diapers. Ds makes stinkers and the wetbag didn't really seal in the smell. Ami

when I was nannying & using disposables it was very normal for there to be beads of gel on the lo's tush when I changed the diaper. I changed them at least every 2 hrs. I kept a log & the parents liked to see an every 2hr diaper change.
Don't feel guilty about making your short vacation easier! I've only used 7th Generation (out of your choices), and really liked them. I had terrible blow-outs with G-diapers.
Bamboo will absorb more than cotton and microfleece, but it will soak thru. whatever it absorbs "spreads" all around the fabric until it is saturated. We go coverless at home and use wool when we go out. Wool is great too
