Thread: How Can the Alien eggs Stay Alive for SO LONG ??

Started 1 month ago by geskhan
I've been wondering about this for a long long time. I dont know if anyone has thought about it too. In the 1st movie, when the Nostromo crew first discovered the Space Jockey's derelict ship, the Space Jockey remains have been fossilized, which goes to say its already been thousands or millions of years since the Space Jockey landed there. The problem here is: And if there are ...

I think the eggs are able to "hibernate" and become dormant for extreme periods of time. It is never really explained, but after all, they are "alien" aren't they? Also some theories suggest that the blue film in the derelict ship covering the eggs helped to preserve them. And there was no queen laying eggs on the derelict ship. The chamber of eggs is actually the rest of the space jockey crew...

i don't mean to be rude, by why do you continuously look for plot holes? Wasn't this movie entertaining enough for you to simply enjoy with questioning everything? There are some questions that just aren't meant to be answered. The Alien having a 24 hr lifespan though would be wrong. The colonists would have "given birth" to the Aliens well before the marines even turned up. & we know it ...

Sorry and I DO MEAN to be rude but nobody has to be a mindless zombie like you and chew down just whatever is fed to them. For all we know, its all thanks to cretins like you who dont care about anything in the world but just to make a movie; thats how AVP f-ucked up the entire mythos of the Alien franchise. You choose to be, you enjoy being the brainless sheep you are thats your choice...

Typical answer of a 12 year old. Thanks for the entertainment clown The Gunslinger smiled. "On the way to the Dark Tower," he said, "anything is possible."

I'm thinking the Space Jockey was transporting the eggs and they where in Suspended Animation and when the Nostromo crew broke through the Mist/Seal it brought them around. The Space Jockey Chestbuster may have been a rogue Facehugger that sneaked on board the ship or maybe it was put there deliberately.Maybe the Space Jockey made an emergency crash landing on the planetoid LV426 and then fired ...

Relax, geskhan. No need to be rude. Perhaps you ought to go and watch 'Four Weddings & A Funeral', have a laugh and unwind a little...

Dude, what ARE you gibbering about? "Largely recognized that the Aliens have a very short lifespan?" Where is that ever established in the films? Oh sure, Scott may have mentioned an idea he had during the film commentary, but that doesn't make it established fact. Kane described the eggs as being covered in a mist that "reacts when broken." Hm. Wonder if it's some sort of stasis or ...

Attention everyone except geskhan, Please, please ignore this pathetic troll. His arguments are flawed and his insults frequent. This geskhan unfortunately has taken the place of the woeful miansl poster from a year ago (remember his ridiculous dribble?!). He is not interested in any rational discussion or insightful banter - he's staying put with his useless ranting. Hudson would be able to sum him up beautifully, I think... Anyone...

geshkan , it appears you can't even discern which poster you are replying to, much less understand basic grammar and spelling. I have to agree with the posters who designate you as a troll. I won't be bothering to waste any more time on you. Enjoy having the thread to yourself.

I think anyone watching the first film should be able to figure out that the eggs are in suspended animation beneath the shield. The space jockeys are obviously beyond simple freezing, and have perfected a way to store organisms indefinately.

I KNOW i shouldnt feed the troll, but here is a little line form the Alien trivia section: "The blue laser lights that were used in the alien ship's egg chamber were borrowed from The Who. The band was testing out the lasers for their stage show in the soundstage next door." Do you still think there are no lights? That they are not obvious to you just means you are a retard, which has already been established....

I think the mist is set up by the eggs to act as a natural intruder alert. That's what the high pitch whine is -- signaling the eggs to pop open. I think it'd be awesome to be impregnated by an alien. Something you inadvertently give birth to grows up to be an unstoppable demon. So even though you die, a part of you lives on eating people's brains.
