Not everyone who hasn't done an apprenticeship is incompetent or clueless. The problem comes when those who shouldn't be touching anything think they know what they're doing . (Ex: "All there is to know is black to black and white to white, electricians are a ripoff" ) I would hate to see big box stores stop selling light switches, fixtures, pipes, or solder - no point of penalizing ...
