( Sep 14 12:30 PM US/Eastern Home power plants project unveiled in Germany An ambitious project was unveiled in Germany on Wednesday to install mini gas-fired power plants in people's basements and produce as much electricity as two nuclear reactors in the coming years. as I don't see a benefit in having hundreds of thousands of "mini-GAS FIRED-power plants over many of the other technologies available. Must be something a kin to Obama's "cash for clunkers" program...to stimulate the industrial sector of the economy. As we can see...these programs are VERY "one-sided" and lead to more problems then solutions. Discover Costa Rica

admit I have mixed feelings about this. While it is a step in the right direction, there already exists a small unit (small enough to fit on a coffee table), approximately the price of an air conditioner, that would heat/cool/provide electricity to one's home for 50-100 years for FREE! Of course, this has been suppressed, but certain people are trying to get this information mainstream so that ...

answer to our energy problems... it is not near as difficult nor does anywhere near the energy input to break the bonds... CLEAN CHEAP ENERGY! The Liberty a society retains is inversely proportional to the number of Lawyers in the Government.

It needs to be run on biofuel and burning garbage instead of natural gas. Then it's there.

An internet-like approach to power generation. also tough to target in a time of war. I'd rather see a cleaner approach though. I guess we aren't quite there yet. But with this plan, the infrastructure would be in place to eventually connect super-clean generation into the grid.

This is a GREAT plan! Get rid of the nuclear plant that uses fuel with a known 1000 year supply and no carbon emission and exchange it for a web of mini-plants with a million moving parts that relies on a fuel of limited supply that produces carbon emissions.

this is why I can't belive the insanity of ethonol.. its at best a 1:1 swap for energy, and that "best" is lab conditions, not reality. in reality its a loss of energy when you look at the "energy cost" to make ethonol from corn. “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” Plato

contained in the resulting hydrogen. http://energy-conservatio... You lose somewhere between 10% and 23% in the conversion process. If you think that you get more energy than you use, then just don't understand the laws of thermodynamics as they now exist. If you want to understand reality, you cannot just look at what you get from electrolysis, but you must look at what you give up also. You would be bankrupt quickly if you attempted to...

Seeming how he mentioned it and his power is seasonal. There are several other options. Water is a great one that is often overlooked. CHA-CHING!
