Are you sure it has a 32Mb cache? Nothing in the FRY's site says so, and searching NewEgg for a "Hitachi Deskstar 1TB" only comes back with a 16Mb version.

If I just want to use this is a secondary drive to store music, pics etc on does the 32mb vs 16mb cache matter for this purpose? Also do retail kits like this typically come with the SATA cable?

Only time it sucks is when I had to copy the files off to swap out the drive. For general storage any HD is going to be plenty fast.
