It's been such a roller coaster for me since my first FET didn't work in June. I've moved across country, gotten me and my dd used to the new place, new jobs, etc., etc. I had a really great consultation with an RE here in San Antonio, who was very positive about the FET working this time around. Before I do the FET, I will make sure my thyroid levels are normal (I was way hyperthyroid...
Hi Diana. Glad to hear that you are settled and that you found a good RE!! Sorry to hear that you decided to do an FSH for fun and got bad news. I know how this feels! I got an FSH of 7, then ten months later 10.1, then 10.4 another cycle later. All this at the age of 32! Freaked me out and made me very sad! All of my cycles were after my higher FSH number. I still got 11 eggs, 8 were ...
Glad you have found an RE you like! Sorry for the high FSH scare. I know that I failed my test at age 34 (I think 10.5). While my RE never did a follicle count, I did only have 7 eggs retrieved; however, it only takes 1 and mine resulted in my DD. I then got pg on my own when she was 9 mths. So, my opinion on the FSH is that it is not a definate predictor of your fertility. Your level ...
Hi Diana-
I am glad to hear you are getting settled and found a good RE. That is really half the battle!
As for FSH, I can sympathize. I tested with high FSH at age 32, which was quite a shock for me. Mine tested initially at 14.6 then went down to 10.4 several months later. I have not had mine tested since Madeline was born, but will have it tested again once my period returns, after I ...
Hey Diana! If I were you I'd have my FSH tested again next month. LIterally, I've seen these go up and down for so many people and it could be just a matter of a whacky test. There's also a book called THe Infertility Cure that I've heard people swear by. It combines Eastern and Western thought and can give you ideas to deal with hyperthryoidism and elevated FSH. I went through SIRM - Dr...
Thanks so much, Jerrae, Amy and Stephanie--you've all given me hope, and I can sleep again, which is so great!! You are all powerful examples for me after this craziness!
Shawna, I have read the Randine Lewis book and do need to get back to eating right, doing imagery, etc., and I have started; just don't know where to find things in new town--they're not too big on natural foods here! I'm...
Hey Diane, We actually used SIRM Las Vegas and traveled back and forth from NY to LV twice! We didn't have insurance coverage and were accepted into a clinical trial they were doing about egg freezing. The staff was very unprofessional, disorganized, and despite it being "free" it came out to about the same as doing a local cycle after we paid for travel and lodging! Unfortunatly, that...
Thanks so much, Shawna; I had no idea you were in a clinical trial! But it sounds like it wasn't really worth it in the end. I'm really just interested in testing for any immunologic factors since I had extended endo removed prior to my first IVF cycle, and I'm wondering if FET #1 failed b/c of toxins from endo growing back. I just want to leave no stone unturned and it never hurts to have a...
Hi Diana,
Glad to hear you are settled. No, they are not big on the "natural" foods there, but they do have some good food. Try Salsalito's or Perrico's if you haven't already. I don't remember what my FSH was, but I do remember not having good "quality" nor that many either time. None left over either. With the 2nd I was told mine look like they came from a 40 yr old. I was 28 at that time...

Have any of you had problems with high FSH levels? A friend of mine has been ttc number 2 for the last 2 years without success. She just found out that her FSH levels are very high and that's probably the cause. The dr says that she knows other patients who have gone on to have other children but it's not something that's easily treated. When I looked it up on the web most sites seem to recommend IVF for cases like that and unfortunately that's not an option for them.
I was wondering if any of you knew of any treatments / or success stories? She really needs a bit of good news at the mo.
Thanks for your help.
