Right, he's probably just talking about that one morning after the clocks change. Go to bed at 9 PM, sleep 10 hours (like most toddlers who sleep however long they're used to and can't read a clock yet), and it's supposed to be 7AM but it's now actually 6 AM. before bill simmons went to espn, he was one of the most entertaining sportswriters i've ever read. friends used to e-mail the columns to each other. the movie/pop-culture stuff was phenomenal. i loved it. after he went to espn, he was still great, imho. granted, he got a little worse after he really hit it big. but it wasn't until he moved to california that he totally lost it. his move roughly coincided with the reality show boom...
