Thread: Hernia repair

I had surgery to repair an inguinal hernia on June 12. I am still experiencing tenderness and soreness off and on with what feels like residual swelling. Not pain, just low-level soreness. I would think it would have healed by now, given that I've done nothing to aggravate it. I called the surgeon's office and the receptionist said that I should come in and get checked if it's still ...

Can anyone comment on the time frame for complete healing? I'm 62 years old. Can't comment on the time frame for hernia repair healing, but I can comment on the wisdom of seeking advice from folk who, not only have never repaired a hernia....but have never answered the phone in the office of someone who has. WTF?

I wasn't seeking advice actually--just wanting to hear about the healing experiences of others to see if I was in the ballpark with my own process. I had already made an appointment with the surgeon. --fleg...

That's the message I took from your initial post. My response is that a friend of mine, who is your age and had a hernia repair about the time that you did, still has some odd pulling ...
