I'm ashamed to say it... but, my R1 has been neglected over the past 16 months of ownership. all due to owning and modding my Rhino.
I finally got fed up with my mud flap and decided to do something about it.
started with this:
pieces pictured along with three others for plate and blinkers....
after welding it all together... it looked like this:

You might consider a full titanium exhaust. Not only will it provide some HP gains (although maybe not a huge amount above your gutted cat setup), but it will reduce weight.
A couple of other things.. can you drop any weight off the 250 lbs? When I started riding, I was about 180 (5'8). I dropped 20 lbs by cutting back on junk food. I wanted to trim up so I could be in better shape...

Yep 6-7 HP for a 2000 dollar setup is about right and THATS why I dont spend an extra grand on headers when its almost exactly the same with 3/4 system. You can shave a LITTLE weight with the headers but the most weight you can shave is in whoever is the rider of the bike, NOT in parts It's like jockeys, why arent there many bigger guys in GP?
I would get a gytr filter, you got your ...

I would say the mod in that number would be on the dyno itself.

Hi all
Does anyone know of a company that makes a Carbon chain guard/guide (the long one that goes through the swingarm) for a 98 R1?

Thinking about getting some Magical Racing type 1 mirrors, wondering what the visibility is like with these, I'm 5'7". So close to just going on a MR shopping spree. http://www.moto-works.jp/bikes/07_yzfr1.html Mirrors Windscreen Tank top cover Side covers Rear fender All in Twill Carbon, opinions? Also, should I get the Super Coat windscreen or the smoke, mind you, my bike is charcoal grey.
I have the type III head with the long stems, and even with their smaller profile they are slightly better than the OEM for visibility, part of this is due to the convex lens, the other is the lack of vibration. I would recommend the "extra long" stems, they weren't available when I got my mirrors and that should help move the mirrors outboard further for an even better view. I won't kid you by saying the visibility...
cecropian: email zero gravity as they are coming out with new models every few weeks. they just released the 08 gsxr 600, 07 cbr 600rr, some buel or bmw, the 07 gsxr 1000 and many others. I would assuming the 07-08 r1 will get done very soon as well. may want to contact them and ask for an eta.
