My little girl is 8 days old. She will NOT sleep in her co sleeper or bassinet. She'll generally only sleep in our arms which obviously poses a problem. Her little clock seems to be reversed so that she is awake and a nightmare beteween 12am and 5am, where she's inconsolable most of the time. She's only slept for more than a few minutes at a time in the bassinet twice. Any ideas? I tried ...
Totally normal, I'm sorry to say! That's where we are right now too! I feel your pain! Ours is 12 days old and amount of time she's up at night is decreasing. I am a scheduler and will do "baby bootcamp" in the next few days! All of mine have been this way until they were on a schedule!
yeah that's just what babies do, lol. i know it sucks, but before you know it she'll be sleeping during the night more often and you'll start getting decent sleep. there's really nothing wrong with her, most babies are like this, and it's just something she'll have to grow out of.
just keep trying to make her comfortable and don't let yourself get too stressed out. btw, those were my ...

If you feel like dropping the cash, I highly recommend getting Harvey Karp's The Happiest Baby on the Block (the DVD, not the book). It will be a lifesaver and is well worth the money.
ya....its tough early on. With DS 2yrs ago...he slept for like 2hrs max and 15min naps mostly. Try to shower with that! Eventually I put him in a swing if I wanted to shower or cook, & used a baby carrier around the house sometimes.
as for sleeping....well I ended up co.-sleeping a bit. wasn't my intent, but it seemed to work well. he eventually learned to sleep in his crib & I always worked...
my dd was the same way for the first 3 weeks, i guess its just part of it, not all of them will sleep perfect in the beginning, but after a while she did get better at it
Is she swaddled in a blanket still? If not, I would try that, newborns love to be swaddled since they were used to being in the womb for so long. Also, they have their days and nights mixed up which is completely normal and they will be up at night for awhile.
My doctor suggested strapping my daughter into her carseat and setting it on top of the dryer when it's running. Make sure you stay right there of course. That's usually good for calming them down, and it won't hurt them to sleep in the seat for a little while.
Have you tried a swing? Or like the pp said, try one of those vibrating things that go on the side of the bassinet. Our pack-n-play has one and it vibrates and plays music. She may need something that is soothing. I would try swaddling too, although my first HATED being swaddled and he always found a way out of it. You can also, try clicking in the car seat to the stroller and putting that by ...
My kids really love the vibrate setting on the little gadget connected to the bassinet. If your bassinet doesn't have one you can purchase one at most stores like Target.
