Hi, I'm looking to buy my first 1911s. Looking at two. One for warm weather carry and another for colder weather carry. I've never owned a 1911 before, but I've shot a RIA 1911 in the past. I currently carry a Glock 26 year round. I never warmed up to the gun and I want a larger caliber. I do need one of my guns to be just as accurate as my Glock, because I do a yearly LE ...

I really like my Colt Defender. I Shoot it much better than my glock 23. Lightweight, compact and .45acp. Perfect for summer carry IMO. I haven't fired any of the Cold weather pistols. So I'll let the other guys chime in about them.

I've got the DW's and the Sig...all are great though I favor the DW's.

Of your list... CBOB for year round. If you can hide a Defender, you can probably hide a CBOB with a good IWB holster.

For cold weather carry, I would go with the DW CBOB. The 4.25 inch barrel and bobtail cut will aid in concealment over all the other listed cold weather possibles except the SW Compact ES. I recently purchased a CBOB and it is very nicely fit and finished. It has no MIM parts and includes a number of Ed Brown parts.
