I really like my Colt Defender. I Shoot it much better than my glock 23. Lightweight, compact and .45acp. Perfect for summer carry IMO.
I haven't fired any of the Cold weather pistols. So I'll let the other guys chime in about them.

Hi,
I'm looking to buy my first 1911s. Looking at two. One for warm weather carry and another for colder weather carry. I've never owned a 1911 before, but I've shot a RIA 1911 in the past. I currently carry a Glock 26 year round. I never warmed up to the gun and I want a larger caliber. I do need one of my guns to be just as accurate as my Glock, because I do a yearly LE ...

CBOB for year round.
If you can hide a Defender, you can probably hide a CBOB with a good IWB holster.

That's what I was thinking, but I really want to have two 1911s in case one ever needs to be seized. Around here (NYC metro) if I was ever in a justifiable shooting...

For cold weather carry, I would go with the DW CBOB. The 4.25 inch barrel and bobtail cut will aid in concealment over all the other listed cold weather possibles except the SW Compact ES.
