Recently the OBC monitor in my 2000 has stopped working. It displays the menu OBC, Nav, DSP, etc., and I can toggle around the menu, by turning the control knob, but pressing to select does not work, nothing happens. I tried the battery disconnect which didn't work and I lost date/time info. The button on the turn signal works and displays OBC info, (consumption, range, etc.) on the ...

Sounds like the knob has failed, they are optical so it's possible there is some dirt in it. You would not have to replace the entire Nav system, just the monitor - time to upgrade to a 16:9 monitor?

You can have a problem with the control buttons ... My wife's Mini (with the NAV) was washed at a car wash. They let some kind of cleaning fluid run down the display screen and beyond (you could see the "flow pattern" on the screen, in the proper light). Fu**ed everything up. The good news was ... it fixed itself after 2 days of flaky operation. Other than that, you may need a new button. ...

You can have a problem with the control buttons ... My wife's Mini (with the NAV) was washed at a car wash. They let some kind of cleaning fluid run down the display screen and beyond (you could see the "flow pattern" on the screen, in the proper light). Fu**ed everything up.
