Hi Ladybugs! DH just said, we need to go into the attic after lunch and toss out some things...really? I was thinking of just relaxing this afternoon, but guess it's not going to happen! Well, I guess he's right, we do need to purge some things, but you have to be in the mood, right? I'm just not in the mood....Will someone please take me away???????
Long gone are the days of saying..."sorry honey, I've got terrible cramps...not today." LOL Ewwww...hope your attic isn't anything like my basement. I bet YOU won't find any crystalized grape jelly from 1993 up there like I did in my basement. Have a fun afternoon....NOT!!
A perk of not having a DH, not doing chores I don't plan on. Oh there are moments of downside, and I affirm and support those of you who have DHs and successful marriages, but the posts this week about "denial" and unplanned "chores" make me feel happy to be free today LOL! And I can just use my shovel to work in my garden ;-)
"What cha talkin' 'bout, Willis?" There's not a football game on TV that dh needs to see, rather than cleaning the attic?? At least he will do it with you, rather than having to do it yourself. This is not YOUR usual fun Saturday, is it?!
Perhaps I should give you a call and keep you occupied on the phone for a while. . .
Sorry, I'm out of Calgon or I would surely take you away. I'll bet the two of you are having a ball in the attic finding pictures and mementos you haven't seen in years.
At my house it's ME who has to force a 'certain someone' to help with chores like clearing out the attic (or in our case, the basement), not the other way around. Oh well, I'll bet your DH was ready to stop working by 3:30, right? <wink>
Oh Shari I feel your pain. I came home from work and wanted to curl up with a blanket for a nap. Dh "needed" help with the trailer for the wood he is splitting for the winter. Hard to say no when they are willing to do the work too...sigh. Then we had company and by the time they left it was too late for a nap.
Well, how did it go? Did you all finish or did you have to stop at 3:30?...
Oh Shari I have been waiting for years for my husband to say those words to me.. And we don't have an attic....but we have 2 garages and a spare room plus stuff around the edges of every room......
When I asked him the other day if we could get rid of just a pickup load he didn't say anything just turned went out and PULLED MY HEDGES OUT!!!!!!! He don't like to trim them even though we got ...
Good luck, Janet, cleaning out Fibbeer McGee's Closet (lol). Do you have trash pick up or must you take stuff to the dump? I find the best dayy to de-clutter is the day before trash pick up. Once it's in the dumpster, there's no second thoughts. If you have to take stuff to the dump; just load up the truck until it is too full to use until it is emptied. But, don't lift anything too heavy ...
My long time friend (when she lived here) and I used to make a thing about going to the dump. She would call me up and in a very uppity voice say "Dahling could you be talked into going with me this afternoon for a little while?" I would say that sounds absolutly wonderful......Where are we going?
She would sing...... TO THE DUMP,TO DUMP, TO THE DUMPDUMPDUMP........like the Lone Ranger tune...

I kid you not - I must put old catalogs in a plastic garbage bag, THEN pour something nasty like coffee grounds or dirty kitty on litter to keep him from digging them out. Jacquie
