YES. His was one of, if not the best performance in the film, IMO.

I think Paxton and Garber both did a great job. But, this is sort of like saying Kathy Bates deserved to be nominated for Best Supporting Actress over Gloria Stuart. I know this might sound odd, but I think Billy Zane is still exceptional as Cal. Everyone will disagree, but he's anything but a one-dimensional villain. Read this description take out of my favorite Titanic review. "Let's ...

The endings of THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR and SOMEWHERE IN TIME make perfectly clear what happened to Rose at the end - those are two of the films Cameron borrowed his ending from. "Remind me to tell you about the time I looked into the heart of an artichoke."

Dude it panned all her pictures of the life she lived...she was riding a horse on the surf, one leg on each side and there was a roller coaster in the background. Those were some of the things they talked about doing...then it showed Rose warm, alone in her bed and a bright white light showed and... BAM she's on Titanic with all the people that understood her and realized what she wanted out of ...

And that piece of wood did more acting than that year's Oscar winner for Best Actress. Awww, c'mon folks - you knew I wouldn't be able to resist chiming in with that!!!! "Remind me to tell you about the time I looked into the heart of an artichoke."

The girl is freezing her ass off, all Jack can think about is *beep* I'm going to die anyway I might as well let her rest on this piece of wood. Neither of them thought they were going to live. She wasn't selfish...she was frickin cold. There was no guarantee that she would even live just because she was on that head board. It's a tragic love story...even if she would have let Jack up on that ...

Nobody seemed to think so at any of the four occasions I saw this in a theater. I can't remember a three hour-plus movie that went faster. "Remind me to tell you about the time I looked into the heart of an artichoke."

Here's an interesting TITANIC/FORSYTE connection: FORSYTE author John Galsworthy and his wife, Ada, made a trip to America of several months' duration, and, if memory serves correctly, on the advice of friends booked their return passage to England on the Titanic! "Remind me to tell you about the time I looked into the heart of an artichoke."

Jack and Rose had an insane amount of love for each other after like what, maybe 2 days? I mean, I love The Notebook, but they had all summer to fall in love. Yes Noah devotes his whole life to helping his wife remember him in The Notebook, but Rose lives her life and never forgets for a second the man that she first fell in love with on that ship and lived with his death the rest of her life...

When some blow hard online responds to me with something like this... what am I supposed to say?? "This is entirely untrue. A lot more than a few hate Titanic. Lots and lots of people cannot stand the film. Personally, I find it watchable and moderately entertaining at best. Aliens, on the other hand, straight blows me away. The Abyss obliterates me. And, when I was 6 in theatres, T2 swept...

I don't see why everyone is making a big deal over 'Avatar' it will flop just like the game, which scored a pathetic 5.5 out of 10.

Making a remake on James Cameron's version and just making another film with a Titanic story are two completely different things. I would support a director making his own Titanic film, but I wouldn't support a director rehashing JC's film. I just hope the next Titanic film is totally different.

If he didn't want the ship to sink, he wouldn't have made a movie set aboard the Titanic. To make an alternate history flick, there needs to be a reason that it's showing an alternate outcome of history. Like Fatherland, the thriller set in a world where the Nazis won WW2. Titanic wouldn't have any reason for being an alternate history movie. Other than the sinking, the events on the voyage aren't unique to Titanic. He...

I'm always open to see a new film version of the Titanic story. If you mean of the Jack and Rose story, nah. They wouldn't remake that. That was Cameron's. If some other filmmaker/studio wanted to set their own kind of story on the Titanic, I'd support that, 100 percent.

This is a bad film isn't it?

Drab, slow, gloomy... You left out paralyzingly boring. That's just it. While I don't like the genre, I found Kane paralyzingly riveting, and continue to after many viewings (even though I know the ending). Just seeing how it goes together, the linkages I missed the first dozen times. What's got more character development than a welfare waif going to extreme wealth to empty death, and the only element left of his life that...

Did Rose abort Jack's baby?

Any baby that might of been conceived would of died when they were in the water. There is no place like home, but there are plenty of places better.

I think that Rose embellished a hell of a lot about what exactly went down with Jack Dawson (no pun intended). Remember, she was a professional actress.... "By GOD, I have it in me to ride NORTH into her very PALACE and WARN HER of what is to COME!"
