Thread: Head light buckets what color?

69 Superbee What color were the headlight buckets when they rolled off the assembly line? Were they galvanized bare metal? If so I think painting them silver to avoid corrosion should be acceptable.....anyone have any input on this?

I would say more of a zinc plating rather than galvanising, if you were wanting to paint them I'd go for a silver grey wheel paint, straight silver would be too bright. Just my 2c

depends on what year . the galvanized headlight buckets i didnt see until the eighties, that dont mean they didnt exist, but until then as a bodyman i never saw anything but flat or sometimes semi gloss black
