Thread: Hasuji Nyumon Iaito

Started 1 month ago by Kusemono
Hi I am considering buying an Iaito from www.Hasuji.com.au (The J-6 Nyumon Iaito to be specific) and was wondering if anyone here could tell me whether I can expect the quality of a sword bought from here to be significantly less than somewhere like Tozando or pretty much the same? Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I get my female students to buy the one above it....nice light weight for them... quality not a lot different from any other japanese iaito. One of the ones you refer to has also just arrived at my dojo. Nice beginners sword, not too heavy, so you can practise for longer.... (which is always a good thing in my book...)

I have the J-3 Tokusen and it has been great. I believe all their swords are made in Gifu ken. Also the owner of Hasuji.com.au is a well known kendo and iaido practitioner himself. Perhaps he'll pop up in this thread... :P b

Hmm, nice, and decent prices. One of my karate sensei is looking for a new sword. Something small and light, being a relitively petite woman. I will have to have her give the place a look. Though I'm not sure if she wants iaito, or shinken

The last time I was looking at Hasuji was a few years back, and unfortunately their prices were absurd compared to international companies. Good to see they've dropped recently. I'd still skip any of their other gear though

I think its about time we sent someone on a mission to locate the origins of these swords.... This message will self destruct in three seconds... (cue 'mission impossible' theme tune)
