You will have to drive to the feet of the Monasteries, then climb the stairs. The amount of steps is of about 1000 for three of them. We did it ( only one monastery!) 23 years ago with the help a very good Swiss made back carrier that allowed us to reach the monastic enclosure changing shoulders one time on the way. Some magnificent views of the monuments and the peaks are anyway ...

Hi,
We are planning a trip to Greece in September & one of the places we are considering is Meteora.We have a 12 month old baby with us & we are planning to drive from Athens to Meteora.I'm not sure if we can drive all the way to the monasteries or do we have to take the stairs.If we have to take the stairs, then approximately how many & can we do it with a baby?...
