Thread: Has anyone taken a new Subaru short block

(I mean straight out of the box never used) and 'blueprinted' it - I would be interested in knowing if there is any value in doing this? TIA Ray

We did to mine just to verify everything, couldn't hurt.

No they are pretty good but most don't make a habit of buying OEM short blocks, tearing them down, and then building them. We buy cranks and bare blocks and then fit them to our engine bearings, pistons, rings, etc. There isn't much to gain blueprinting an OEM short block with OEM parts since their blueprint range is huge. LOL! We have our own specifications that we blueprint our motors ...
