Started 2 months ago by alivehope

These deficiency syndromes of Chinese medicine are attributed to the spleen (for ...

I have run across this article a few times when I get a bad case of the Googlitis. Interesting to say the least. I recently tried a herb my naturopath suggested, one that was mentioned a few times on this forum. Most posts were negative but I guess I like to learn the hard way. All I will say is that it didn't work out that well. I am still pretty fresh off from completing my taper so I know...

Yes alivehope, many people seem to be more sensative then others. For example, I eat a ton of flax seed a day and it has really helped me stay regular. I couldn't live without it in my diet. I think the biggest thing is try things very slowly and at smaller doses when trying something new. Also, don't try a bunch of supplements / herbs / new food all at once or you won't know what is actually...

I don't know most of them, but ginseng is known to be stimulating.

I'm seeing an acupuncturist. I started when I was going through withdrawal. I found it helped my mood, though it didn't eliminate the symptoms. she says that my depression and other problems are caused by weak kidney chi and excessive dampness. she said to think about stagnant water. she has given me several herbal formulas. the last one was a diuretic, which i had a very strong, negative ...

It makes sense to someone who has studied TCM. But the problem is that it's difficult to find a reputable TCM practitioner who really knows what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend you read a list of herbs and run out and buy them. These are usually always prescribed as a "formula" with several herbs in it. Most accupuncturists may use Chinese herbs but I don't think they understand the ...
