OOooo!!I found connection between Halloween and this day in Russia. In ancient Russia this day also meant meeting the winter and the day of memory of the dead. In Russia it's called Dmitrievskaya subbota(saturday), it was established by Dmitrty Donskoy in the regard of dead warriors of Kulikovskaya Bitva( battle) in 1380. (When we won Mamai(mongol) on the 8th september 1380)

A marigold hangs on crosses covering part of the U.S.-Mexico border wall as part of the Day of the Dead celebrations in Tijuana, in Mexico, Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Volunteers from the Pro-migrant Defense Coalition hung 5,100 wooden crosses in honor of 5,100 migrants who have died crossing to the US since 1995, according to their statistics.
