Thread: Hair Coloring

Started 4 months ago by LindsayO
What's everyone's opinion on this?  I normally go regularly every 6-8 weeks.  My DR and hair stylist say as long as it's not a dark dye, it's fine.  I normally do just some blone highlights. Just wondering what other people have heard. ~Lindsay, 31, DH 31  ttc 18 mos - m/c 7/25/08 EDD 4/3/10

I have been told that if you are just doing foiling you are ok, but to not do your whole head.  Not sure why, but I guess better to be safe than sorry.

I've colored my hair faithfully every 5-6 weeks thru 4 pregnancies, have 4 healthy beautiful children.  My doctors have said it is fine and I will continue with this little one.  I can't wait 12 weeks to get my hair colored, I'm 95% grey and don't want people to think I'm my kids grandma

Hmmmm...  I have heard its ok, but I have also heard that its not to smart until after you are 12 weeks.  I immdiatley called my hairstylist and told her and she ok... well come in after you are 12 weeks.  She also said that the colors can ened up changing to a color its not suppossed to be because of your hormones.... Good luck...

My doc said the highlights were fine - base breaker (single process- touches scalp) was not. I followed this during my 1st preggo. My colorist says all her clients except for a very few keep with their normal program, but I will still stopy the base breaker to be "safe"

i've hear highlights are fine but complete dyes are not.  i did not hear this from a reliable source, though.  it's on my list of questions to ask my obgyn.  i also do blonde highlights.
