Personally I don't see what the issue is. There is plenty of room in the marketplace for the Droid, the iPhone and others. Apple do not need to (and are not aiming) for 100% market share...

"Many people have been comparing the new Droid to the iPhone, and some have even called the new device the true iPhone killer. But judging from the people I talked with who were buying the Droid, it looks like it might be more of a BlackBerry killer." Most of the people that I spoke to as well about the Droid say roughly the same. They are loyal to Verizon and don't want to go to AT&T....

I'm just talking in terms of stock prices here. Motorola is overhyped and it will Hurt the stock because ther are not any lines at verizon stores. There stock was already down 4.5% on Friday. If they don't sell well over 1 million phones before the new year they will have failed in wall street's eyes.
