Thread: HIGH MCV AND MCH WITH LOW RDW

MY BLOODWORK CAME BACK TAGGED WITH HIGH MCV AND HIGH MCH BUT LOW RDW. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

This is lmgh again, just noticed that my white blood cells are off as well, percentage of eusinofilos and basofilos are almost non existant and then the amounts per ul are also down on neutrofilos, eusinofils and o basofilos, in adition to the high MCV and MCH with low RDW. Anyone have any idea what all this means, as this is quite different from the blood work done 10 months ...

RDW measures the width and variation of the red blood cells. If there were evidence of iron deficiency anemia or decrease of vitamin B12 then the red blood cells would be usually wider or increase. The MCV is the true measurement for deficiencies. The White blood cells are the different Leukocyte Leukocyte alkaline phosphatase count which all of them vary, depending on the ...

The White blood cells are the different Leukocyte Leukocyte alkaline phosphatase count which all of them vary, depending on the type.  Suggest asking your MD about the results.
