Hello all, I have a 6380E that I think suddenly have had a problem:-( 2 days ago was working fine.. I have dismantled all components: ram, cpu, hd, agp video card and so on. I checked ram on other pc (good), tryed another working PSU, tryed another Video card and a pci one too. Now I think there is a problem on the mainboard. When I turn it on, fan works but I dont hear any beep when I...
unfortunately all board looks like in good condition .. You think it could be a bad capacitor problem? You know what the led behaviour I wrote mean? Regards
What PSU do you have? Whether they are red or green all 4 LED's should light up so with #1 out don't know for sure what the code is. Examples of bad caps:
My caps look like new (unfortunately), anyway I will have a deep inspection of them. There are other trials I can try? One doubt, these motherboards have to be connected to the ground to work or should work isolated from it? Regards
Quote from: Fredrik on 01 November 09, 03:05:20 Processor problem, probably powerless. Poster's powersupply possibly packed with dust. Why powerless, if fan are working? I tried today the third PSU with the same behaviour, so probably it is not a PSU problem. The thing that worry me is that there are no audible beep if I start the system without CPU or ram, I should hear ...
I have this board too ,it works and it has good caps.If it died it did it from something else maybe some crap PSU killed something. Change the battery if you havent done it yet. Have you tryed to boot without HDD-s and opticals connected ?
That the fan spins is a good indicator the motherboard supplies power all-around. It doesn't have to do much else. You should be a little specific about the PSU. A rule of thumb is a max amps list - side of the PSU - that looks something like this: 12v - 16-18A, 5v - 25-30A, 3.3v - 25-30A. If the processor doesn't start at all you get nothing, not even beeping. Perhaps it is ...

Quote from: kalauz on Today at 11:15:47 Maybe is better buying an old PATA IDE drive ...... Yeah a dead cpu would give those symptoms, if it weren't for the led show. Now assuming the "dead" led is due to a dead led, what are the prognoses assuming the dead led should be a)Green and b)red? It's a while since I've looked at that.
