Got the new droid, went in settings, it suggested new update, did it. restarted my fone and froze it. now i get
E: Cant Open/Cache/Recovery/Command
CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME!!! I think i got rid of the operating system on it. Do i need to download a brand new one? If not , what do i do to just get the fone to work ie camera, phone, scroll through ****
well you didn't get rid of the operating system...
second i don't think there is a new update for the droid yet...
if you don't mind losing any settings you have, i'd recommend a factory reset it should be in your settings somewhere
but first i'd just try pulling the battery for a few seconds and restarting the phone.

did that, all i can do now is get to the screen:
Android System Recovery:
reboot system
apply sd card.update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
i wiped it, then rebooted. still nothing. it like freezes on the first image of restarting the phone.
the lil green guy, with the buildings and the motorola logo in the spotlight like batman.

i think you might have a faulty phone. nothing you did should have done that... did you turn on debugging in the settings? not sure what that would have to do with the update though... you haven't done anything wrong, i'd give customer service a go... phone shouldn't do whatever it did. which i can't seem to figure out.
the phone used to work perfect, everything was great. came across something that said "debugger" app and updated my phone. now it wont start. thas where i get the "E: Cant Open...." etc error Never re-rooted the fone/didnt do anything except what i wrote. but need desperate help

you need to put a copy of the os onto the root of your sd card . rename it update . go into the recovery screen (where you are at right now ) and press apply update . if you were getting an update , it could have erased your os before rewriting a new one . for some reason it could have erred . i dont know where you can get a download .

Also I would google for a Motorola phone forum to post questions to maybe there is someone on one those forums that can point you in the right direction to obtain the droid rom.
