Currently I have 6.0.2 and am trying to update to 6.0.6. When I try to download 6.0.6 it tells me that it won't download unless I am running 6.0.5. Problem is, I can't find a way to download 6.0.5!
Suggestions??

Just run Software update... you'll get it done that way. There's not any updates that aren't good to go so accept them all.
You may well have to run it more than one time to get them all too. Just keep running it until you're all up to date.

Install EVERYTHING it asks for and keep running it until you get the message that all apps are up to date.
Also FCP and the rest of the pro apps have to be at the top of the Applications folder on your startup disk, or Software update can't see them.

It now says all apps are up to date.
When you say "at the top...", how do you make sure that's the case? Sorry, but I'm rather new the Mac.

Mac OS X (10.5.8)...
Open your applications folder, and make sure that FCP, Motion, DVD SP, Color, etc.. are all in the folder and NOT inside another folder. i.e, you can't put them in folders anywhere except in the applications folder and not in a folder inside the applications folder.

mmmmm...
Look in your receipts folder and trash any updates you see there for Studio... this folder is found in the MacHD/Library/receipts folder. You should have one for 6.02 in there at least, then run software update again.

Go to Software Update > Reset Ignored Updates, just to be sure that you haven't ignored anything that FCP depends on. Quad G5, 8 GB RAM; MacBook 2GHz Black, 2GB; PowerBook G4 1.5, 1 GB Mac OS X (10.4.11) Final Cut Pro 6.0.2, Shake 4.0
Download and install the Pro Applications 2008-005 update . This updater includes the FCP 6.0.5 update . Once that's installed, you should be able to install the FCP 6.0.6 update. MacBook Pro C2D, 2.33GHz, 2GB RAM Mac OS X (10.5.6)
I had the same problem and found a solution. I noticed that some how the FCP application wasn't really in my Application folder. For some reason, it was on my Desktop. Once I moved it back to the App folder, updates installed correctly. The crazy thing... there was a file in the App folder labeled Final Cut Pro, but it wasn't the actual application. Maybe it was a short cut. The file size is what clued me in. The imposture in the...
