apologies first off if this is in the wrong section of the forums, it was a tear between technical satellite or computers and networking, so it is relevant to both, just thought you people here might have a better idea.
i brought a kworld dvb-s 100 satellite pci card yesterday from maplin and ive put it all in and installed it, it works great, but my only gripe is the ...
I have two cards, a Kworld DVB-S 100 and a Hauppauge DVB-S2 card.
The Kworld is the faster card of the two when it comes to channel change and search functions, and with both cards I disregard the viewing software that comes with them and use DVBViewer, others people will have other preferences, but this software seems to be reliable with the hardware I'm using.
I ...
I have a similar problem.
I bought the TBS DVBS2 8920, and it works fine with it's own software in XP, except that it insists on displaying BBC HD and Luxe HD in 4:3 format however it is set.
But in Windows 7 the media center recognizes the card but says there is no signal from it.
I haven't tried it's own software in Windows 7, but presume it would work the same as in XP...

I tried several alternatives, both freebies and paid for, and it came down to a choice between DVB Dream and DVB-Viewer. ...
You might want to have a look at the DVBLogic software. Their latest beta is something called TVSource which uses the DVBDream sat engine to tune and decode transport streams and present them to vista or 7 media center. i don't know if your card works but it's worth a look at.
FWIW I have a Hauppauge Nova DVB-S2 card working on Windows 7 with Media Centre and DVBviewer.
I have not had to add any extra drivers for the card, and the remote actually works quite well with Media Centre.
With both software packages, HD channels, are 'blocky' for a few moments when I switch to them.
I think that Windows Media Centre is using an AC3 codec ...
Win 7 and Media Center also found my KWorld DVB-T card without any intervention. It offered a channel scan, and came up with a complete list, ready to go, and all listed in the 'preferred' UK order. But for me, the jury's still thinking about whether Media Center really cuts the mustard.
