Thread: HD Camcorder

I am in the market for an HD camcorder, but I'm kinda short on funds (with World Cup Asia just a week away, main reason for wanting it). I am looking to spend no more than $250. Some specs that I think are a must: -At LEAST 4x Optical zoom -I would prefer an SD card type of storage -Rechargeable batteries -I would also prefer a "lay down" style, similar to the "conventional" video camera, ...

I would say JVC since you get more (80GB HD) vs the sony's (40gb) If there is a Sony 80GB then I would choose that, from the Sony's that I have played with, they seem easy to navigate and quality is sweet. I've always liked Sony more then others since I have tons of MS, MS Duo and I'm familiar with their stuff.

I like Canon Vixias, but those may be out of your price range.

I think Canon Vixia HF S11 is a wonderful camcorder and has an excellent image stabilizer. The price range is $1350 to $1400.
