Thread: Great weeping roses for hanging baskets??

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by prettypetals
Hi everyone, I have a Sweet Chariot in a large pot and it has done great this year. Nest spring I would like to try a couple weeping roses in some hanging baskets. I love all colors except red! Do you think I need to stick with miniature roses that weep so they won't get way to big and outgrow the baskets? I might post the same questions on the miniature forum. Thanks, Judy

I would probably stick mostly with minis, but there are a few smaller shrub roses that tend to trail and might work also. I can't think of any names right off, but do some looking and you might find a couple of them. Of course, Sweet Chariot is a champ in a hanging basket, but you already know that.

The polyantha Weeping China Doll looked beautiful in a hanging basket in a photo I saw somewhere. Ingrid

Thanks you guys! I have looked at Weeping China Doll and forgot about that one. I was looking at it for a tree rose but might have to use it in a hanging basket. I will definitely look into Little White Lies too. Thanks again, Judy
