military families. I used to volunteer at the shelter here and it is all too common. Not necessarily war deployments. So many people seem to think pets are just disposable toys that you give up when it is no longer convenient.

All of our pets are rescue: currently two racetrack rescue greyhounds, 1 white lab, and a malti-poo abandoned on our front steps in January 2008 when she was only a 3-month ball old of fur.
