Eyeing a run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has moved to the right to better appeal to the conservatives who will likely select the GOP candidate.
Pawlenty has been viewed during his two terms as fairly close to the center. But in recent weeks he has made several moves to burnish his right-wing credentials....
I don't know a lot about Pawlenty since I don't keep up with Minnesota politics.
The headline you posted from Newsmax may be correct but the article that follows it doesn't offer anything to support the headline.
Maybe we have some folks here who have followed Pawlenty's record.
MC,
You're right about these political candidates, they are chameleons. That is why I really like Senator Jim DeMint. He is soft-spoken, but very passionate. I met him in DC at the 9/12 rally, he sure didn't come off as a person just hanging out and weaseling in on the 9/12ers. He is very genuine. Congressman John Shaddick from AZ is pretty cool too. I met him during the press conference at...
Shadegg tries in each Congress to introduce a bill that would require a discussion of constitutionality for introduced bills. Congress tries to play it off as a joke. Nobody out here in obamaland is laughing now.
U.S. Congressman John Shadegg : Serving the 3rd District of Arizona
Senator DeMint seems to be in the right place. They can keep Pawlenty for 2012, but I'd like to see him build...
Boy do I feel dumb, I thought his name was Shadickk not Shadegg. I didn't hear him correctly when he introduced himself to me. Anyway, he told us about HR450 and how each time it doesn't get any looksee in committee. It should. This is the kind of congressman we need, the constitutional kind. I was impressed with him when I met him.
Gov, Pawlenty seems a little too opportunistic to me. I ...
Again, the article contains no examples of policy or issues where Pawlenty was moderate. It just flatly states that he is now talking more conservatively.
Can one of you please post some examples of his moderate approach to actual issues or policy in Minnesota.

I believe this could be said about many of their articles. This is why I don't subscribe; this and the fact that they are a lot more generous with my e-mail address than I ...

You're right Terri. I looked up stuff on Pawlenty, so much stuff came from left-leaning drivel pieces. Pawlenty seems to be a fiscal conservative, pro-life, pro-business and lower ...
I don't know much about Pawlenty.
But, I do know that news organizations convince people of what they want them to believe with headlines. It seems so simple to realize that there is nothing in this story to back up the headline and to wonder why they put that headline on it.
Here's an interesting piece about the guy who runs Newsmax.
If you know the source, and you know the bias ...

Let's put it this way- Pawlenty would be better than any Dem, but he was a big supporter of John McCain. They're fairly close in political philosophy. He does have the guts to cut budgets if necessary but he's not skeptical of global warming. We certainly could have done worse than T-Paw but he won't be as conservative as many here would hope.
