Thread: Google Street View in SOMD

Just in case you have missed it, the Street View folks evidently made a pass this summer, and got a lot of 235, GRM, Rt 5, even the Loveville Road, and Chancellors Run. Basically, if your in Google maps, and see a yellow line on the road, it has Street View. I know it was this summer based on the state of construction in front of my house. Just keep zomming down as far as you can, then zoom...

If you turn and look down GMR, there is a red truck. Double click on the truck and the view zooms down the road to show.... the red truck. Double click again and the next view down the road shows.... the red truck!! It must have been following the mapping vehicle down the road.

Yep, I noticed that they had updated the maps this morning also. I'm thinking they did it on a weekend because there's few cars on the road & at places of employment (i.e. Exploration, & on base). Also noted that many of the markers for places are off quite a bit; a few I noticed were Damon's, the Shell station at the corner of Pegg Rd., Griffiths Flooring, Hewitt's Hertz, CVS, and it ...

Yep, the last ones before this new update, you could kinda make out a house shaped outline, and the shed was a suggestion at best, even if you know what you looking at. This new one, its quite clear, you can even make out the stone wall I put around the base of one of my trees, and that suckers only about 4-5 feet around. Easily twice the resolution.

Yep, I noticed that they had updated the maps this morning also. I'm thinking they did it on a weekend because there's few cars on the road & at places of employment (i.e. Exploration, & on base). Also noted that many of the markers for places are off quite a bit; a few I noticed were Damon's, the Shell station at the corner of Pegg Rd., Griffiths Flooring, Hewitt's Hertz, CVS, and it still shows the 7-11...

I just looked at my old house in Hollywood and my car is there. The swingset that I bought in 6/08 was not there so the pic was taken prior to it.
