Thread: Google Maps/Locations

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by proussak
Anyone finding that Google Maps location-finding (not through GPS) has gone way off in the last couple of weeks? I'm on TMO in LA, and each time I ask it for my location I'm further and further out towards the ocean - I had better learn to swim! Ditto for results for friends through Latitude - there it seems to give me results for two days ago.

This post was really a matter of curiosity - I generally know where I am (especially if I'm actually at home). But it was also about inaccuracies in Latitude, which becomes pretty useless if it's 5 miles off. GPS doesn't work when I'm inside, athough I actually find it very accurate if I'm outside and really want to know where I am.

Exactly, for some reason forgot to clarify that earlier. haha On average outside 3 meters. On average inside 500/800 meters.

I live in a ranch style house, and even indoors, Google or even the standard BB maps get me within a few meters of where my recliner is.
